vivo mobile releases the Y1S exclusively through the MTN network.
After a year in South Africa vivo mobile is now available through the MTN network with the newly launched Y1S. Priced at only R199/month over a 24month contract, this phone is one of the most accessible smart phones currently in the SA market.
Launched globally in August 2020, the Y1S offers South African consumers a cost efficient high-spec phone that has a 4,030mAh battery, that together with vivo’s innovative smart power management system ensures a device that is powered up for days – perfect for easy gaming and ongoing video play.
The Y1S also has a 6.22-inch IPS HD+ display with 720 x 1520 pixels resolution. Plus, there’s a 19:9 aspect ratio and a dewdrop notch overhead housing a fantastic selfie sensor, which works in conjunction with the 5MP front-facing camera with f/1.8 aperture. This means it’s the easiest go-to for picture perfect selfies. For friends, family and on-the-go images, there’s a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture.
The Y11 will also be available through the MTN network. This phone launched into market with vivo’s entry into country in December 2019 and has seen a successful uptake through that time. At the time of the launch, one review said: “In the hand, it feels sturdy and more premium than its price would suggest, something we seem to say often about vivo phones.”
