In line with vivo’s continuous fast growth in South Africa, vivo mobile opens its debut standalone service center in Cape Town. The store, situated in Canal Walk, is the first after-purchase offering in the Western Cape providing multi-level customer support.

“In 2021, vivo placed fifth throughout the market share of the global smartphone industry,” Explains Jeff Cao, CEO of vivo mobile South Africa. “vivo also led the China smartphone market, and, as our network extended to 10 further countries throughout Africa, our business in South Africa continuously grew with doubled annual growth.”

“This store is one of the most important service experience facilities we’ve built in South Africa and it will play an important role in the growth of vivo South Africa for years to come,” adds Cao.

Along with its commitment to creating great products, vivo is unsurprisingly dedicated to leading service innovation and customer satisfaction. Contrary to the general perception that the after-sales service is still the Achilles Heel for the smartphone, vivo South Africa has launched a series of services to satisfy its customers’ expectations, which includes free collection and delivery, a one-hour flash repair, and multi-value-add services like offering free labour on repairs to in-warranty or out-warranty products.

At the start of 2022, in order to further optimizes the service flow and reduces wait times, vivo South Africa introduced a door-to-door service in Johannesburg, covering all vivo models.

In conjunction with the ground-breaking service, vivo is also one of the first to offer complimentary insurance for the devices. As Tony Shi, General Manager of vivo South Africa says: “vivo customer care is always with you!”

vivo is confident of its continued growth in South Africa: “By the second half of 2022, we will be ready to fully open all our operator channels,” continues Shi. “this includes comprehensive retail and online channels.”

A momentous year for vivo as further devices are planned for rollout in SA in the third quarter, plus vivo will be celebrated as the official smartphone sponsor for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
