Sage, the leader in accounting, financial, HR and payroll technology for small and mid-sized businesses and the Official Insights Partner of Six Nations Rugby, has joined forces with Sage partner and Springbok legend Bryan Habana in a series of rugby adverts that celebrate the use of data and insights in business and sport.
Sage was recently announced as Official Insights Partner of the Autumn Nations Series, Guinness Six Nations and TikTok Women’s Six Nations. The deal will see rugby’s new Smart Ball being used in international test rugby for the first time in the northern hemisphere.
Sage has also partnered with SuperSport for the South Africa tour to Europe this November, bringing fans closer to the action and decision making on the pitch than ever before.
The Boks will begin their tour with a match against Ireland in Dublin on Saturday 5th November, before facing France, Italy and England in the coming weeks.
This year Sage has featured real-life customers in its brand campaigns which celebrate how its world-leading products and services help business flow. Habana is a Sage partner through his financial wellness platform Paymenow which he helped establish in 2019.
Pieter Bensch, Managing Director and Executive Vice-President, Sage Africa and Middle East, said: “Bryan Habana’s company uses Sage products and services to help thousands of South Africans every day, so he was a perfect partner for our rugby-themed brand campaign. Bryan is a rugby legend, and we want to highlight his off-pitch achievements. His business knowledge, coupled with his rugby know-how, is a fascinating combination. As Official Insights Partner of the Autumn Nations Series, we look forward to giving rugby fans valuable insight into both worlds.”
Bryan Habana, Co-Founder and CCO of Paymenow said, “Our company has been a partner of Sage in South Africa since 2020 and so it was a good fit for me to become involved in their new rugby advertising. Both as a player and now a broadcaster, I have always found the advancement of data and insights extremely valuable, and Sage’s new role within rugby means they are helping to enhance the match experience for fans across the world. Their involvement with the Smart Ball is exciting as it gives fans access to data right from the heart of the game within seconds.”
Paymenow is the market-leading Earned Wage Access (EWA) platform in Africa, focusing on financial wellness and inclusion. The service aims to empower users on how to migrate from indebtedness to becoming investors. The platform promotes responsible financial behaviour and encourages saving.
