South Africa has become the first country outside of India to welcome the all-new Mahindra XUV 3XO.
The all-new XUV 3XO sets new benchmarks in the compact sport utility vehicle (C-SUV) segment, with standout design, premium interiors, a truly comfortable ride, cutting-edge technology, thrilling performance and the highest level of safety.

For this all-new model, Mahindra drew on the expertise of its global network of design studios and its large engineering hub at the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai India.
Mahindra also incorporated the feedback from customers across the globe, including South Africa, in its design process. This can clearly be seen in new design features such as the black leatherette interior and the large, expansive floating 10.25” infotainment system that combines with the 10.25” digital cluster for a truly premium experience.
In India, the impact of the striking design, engineering, performance and luxury in the XUV 3XO
**Luggage volume up to roof (ISO V215)
was evident in the demand for the new model shortly after its introduction. Indeed, in India, Mahindra dealers took over 50 000 orders for the new model in the first hour after opening for business on the launch day.
In South Africa, the XUV 3XO will be available across Mahindra’s 90 dealerships country-wide to view and test drive from 20 September 2024. Customers who want to secure their new XUV 3XO can immediately place an order and will also receive a special attractive finance offer. Sales and Customer deliveries will start from 3 October 2024.
Standout Design
The XUV 3XO introduces a bold, athletic silhouette that commands attention.
It features a distinctive front grille and headlamp design with a piano black finish on the grille and LED headlamps, LED DRLs and LED fog lamps. Several unique wheel designs have been penned for the different XUV 3XO models, including a stylish 17” diamond-cut alloy wheel on luxury models.
At the rear, the infinity LED tail lamp, which stretches across the rear of the vehicle, emphasises the wide and stable stance of the XUV 3XO.
The XUV 3XO’s interior complements its striking exterior with a blend of premium finishes and modern design elements and equipment.
Its cabin boasts premium interiors with a soft-touch leatherette dashboard that extends to the door trims and leatherette seat upholstery to elevate the sense of sophistication. Leather accents on the steering wheel, gear knob and front armrest further enhance the premium feel.

Advanced technology
The XUV 3XO is at the forefront of automotive technology twin 26.03 cm (10.25”) HD screens, and wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
The first-in-segment features, like a 65 W USB-C charging point and Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, are tailored for tech-savvy users seeking convenience on the go.
Adding to the list, an immersive audio experience is created through a Harman Kardon Premium Audio with a dedicated amplifier and sub-woofer that also offers Sonic Expanse, Bass Enhancer, a nine-band equaliser and four Ambient Sound Modes.
Additionally, Level 2 ADAS with 10 features ensures enhanced driving assistance and safety measures. The inclusion of radar technology aids the ability to detect obstacles in challenging weather conditions such as heavy rain or dense fog, thereby offering crucial collision warnings and facilitating Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).
These cutting-edge features are complemented by the largest-in-class Skyroof, which not only enhances the vehicle’s visual appeal but also enriches the driving experience. The 360-degree surround view system with blind view monitor further adds to the comfort and convenience of the driver.

World-Class Safety
Safety is paramount in the XUV 3XO, ensured by the extensive use of high-strength steel and 35 standard safety features. The 3XO is designed with 45% of body making use of ultra-high-strength steel for unparalleled strength. The cabin is engineered to absorb a 20 ton frontal impact, with an energy absorption zone and its proven trident structure in the minimal deformation zone, creating the safe cocoon for its occupants.
Additional cutting-edge safety technologies include a 360-degree surround view system with Blind View Monitor, new-generation Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with hill hold control and hill descent control, ensuring superior control in challenging driving conditions. Furthermore, the vehicle comes standard with six airbags, four disc brakes, 3-point seat belts and seat-belt reminder for all seats along with passenger airbag on/off for child safety, ISOFIX child seats with top-tether, among others, providing comprehensive protection for all occupants.
These features underscore the XUV 3XO’s commitment to safety, establishing it as a leader in its class for both active and passive safety systems.

The SUV’s credentials are further enhanced by its longest-in-class bonnet, adding a sense of robustness and forward motion.
With a commanding seating position where the driver’s eye level is almost 1.4 metres above the ground, the XUV 3XO offers best-in-class forward visibility of 23.7°.
Bold wheel arches and large tyres underscore its ruggedness, with the largest tyre outside diameter (OD) in its class, contributing to a formidable stance. The impressive ground clearance, calibrated approach and departure angles, and best-in-class water-wading depth amplify the XUV 3XO’s SUV-ness factor. Complementing these features are the segment-leading R17 Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels, which further accentuate its authoritative presence.

Spirited Performance:
The XUV 3XO is powered by a turbo-petrol engine that is designed for exhilarating performance and superior efficiency.
Staying true to the brand’s legacy of offering thrilling performance, the mStallion TCMPFi turbo-petrol engine delivers 82 kW and 200 Nm of torque. The engine features new vehicle management software and intelligent turbo-charging to clock a 0-60 km/h run in 4.6s while offering exceptionally low fuel consumption.
The XUV 3XO can also be ordered with a 6-speed AISIN Third Generation Automatic Transmission, renowned for its durability and reliability. The gearbox has proven itself in the XUV 700, which utilises a transmission from the same family.
The transmission offers smooth gear shifts and is optimised to deliver great fuel efficiency as well as a ‘fun to drive’ experience.
Each engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an added option of 6-speed AISIN automatic transmission for the petrol engines.

The XUV 3XO is equipped with an advanced suspension system that includes a MacPherson Strut Fully Independent Front Suspension and a Twist Beam Semi-independent Rear Suspension.
This set-up ensures a ride quality that is quiet and comfortable, with quietness matching that of the XUV 700. Additionally, the XUV 3XO features first-in-segment three smart steering modes—Comfort, Normal and Sport. These smart steering modes are available across all powertrains, ensuring that every driver can enjoy a controlled and responsive driving experience, setting a new standard for what drivers can expect from a compact SUV.
The SUV also features custom drive modes—Zip, Zap and Zoom—specifically in the Petrol Automatic variants, each designed to enhance the driving dynamics on varying terrains by adjusting the vehicle’s performance characteristics. Moreover, the XUV 3XO incorporates MTV-CL (Multi-Tuned Valve Concentric Land) technology within the dampers. This advanced valving technology significantly improves ride and handling performance by optimising the suspension response to different driving conditions.

Customers can visit their nearest Mahindra dealer from 20 September 2024 to test drive and even order their new XUV 3XO. Deliveries will start in the first week of October.
The Mahindra 3XO is sold with a 5-year / 150 000-kilometre mechanical warranty. MX models are offered with a 3-year / 55 000-kilometre service plan, and the AX models have a 5-year / 100 000-kilometre service plan.
